Camping at Dan Nicholas Park
Extend your adventure by staying overnight at Dan Nicholas Park. The park offers a beautiful, wooded campground next to the lake, providing access to park attractions, lakeside fishing, hiking trails, and more. The six on-site cabins feature heat and air, microwaves, refrigerators, and grills to make cooking easier. Sample 2-3 Hour Itineraries
Families: Start at Rowan Wildlife Adventures, then try mini-golf or gem mining, and finish with a picnic at one of the covered shelters. If weather permits, the splash pad is a fun bonus.
Toddlers: Begin at the playgrounds, then ride Haden’s Carousel, and enjoy a short paddleboat trip on the lake. End with a quick snack at the concessions stand.
Rainy Day: Focus on Rowan Wildlife Adventures. Between the nature center & indoor barnyard, there's still plenty of fun to be had even when the sun's not out.

Do I need tickets to enter the park?
No, general park admission is free. Individual attractions like mini-golf, gem mining, paddleboats, and carousel rides have separate fees.
When is the park busiest?
Weekends, holidays, and festival days are the busiest. Arrive early for parking and shorter lines.
Are strollers and wheelchairs allowed?
Yes, most paths, playgrounds, and picnic areas are accessible.
Can I bring pets?
Dogs are allowed in designated areas but must be leashed. Pets are not allowed in the splash pad or wildlife areas.
What if it rains?
Indoor attractions at Rowan Wildlife Adventures remain open. Many covered picnic areas are also available.
