The City of Kannapolis is shared by both Cabarrus and Rowan counties in the heart of NASCAR country, and is racing legend Dale Earnhardt’s hometown. Kannapolis boasts parks, attractions, original restaurants and shopping, and so much more. You’ll often find concerts, festivals and free events occurring year-round in this bustling community.
Kannapolis Cannon Ballers:
The city is home to the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers minor league baseball team which is the Low-A of the Chicago White Socks. Games are played at Atrium Health Ballpark which is a destination in itself! The stadium sits adjacent to the world renown North Carolina Research Campus and along the new Downtown Kannapolis streetscape. The ballpark hosts annual events such as the Cannon Ballers Trees of Hope, but is also open to the public on non-game days to enjoy the playground, splash pad, walking trail around the concourse, and Boomer’s Bistro or the Outfield Bar.
Kannapolis is also home to the only double decker carousel in North Carolina. The carousel can be found in Village Park alongside an amphitheater, walking trail, the Rotary Express train, a splash pad, playground, picnic shelters and open space. Each weekend throughout the summer, the park comes alive with the Kannapolis Summer Events Series; free family-friendly events that include live arts, concerts, movies and storytelling.
