You might be surprised that one of the biggest Independence Day celebrations in North Carolina takes place in the small town of Faith, N.C. - but it’s true. Known far and wide for their weeklong festivities, the Faith 4th of July Celebration attracts thousands of visitors every year.

  • July 3 - The Entertainers at 7:30 P.M.

  • July 4 - Divided By 4 at 7:30 P.M.

  • July 5 - AM 2 FM at 7:30 P.M.

 

New for 2025: This year, visitors can also experience Echoes of Summer: Faith’s 4th of July Celebration, a fine art photography exhibition by Salisbury-based photographer Traci Arney. The exhibit is on view June 25 – July 5, 2025 at The Potters House (108A N. Main Street, Faith, N.C.), and beautifully captures the energy, nostalgia, and small-town magic of the Faith 4th of July Celebration through Arney’s unique blend of documentary and composite photography. An opening reception will be held on Wednesday, June 25 from 6–8 PM, and the public is invited to attend.

Celebrate Independence Day weekend with an evening of family fun at the N.C. Transportation Museum’s Fireworks Over Historic Spencer Shops! The festivities begin at 5:30 P.M. with free kid-friendly activities starting at 6:00 P.M. - including inflatables, face painting, a bubble show, lawn games, music, and more. This free event wraps up with a spectacular fireworks display at 9:15 P.M., set against the backdrop of the historic Bob Julian Roundhouse.

 

New this year, hop aboard the Firecracker Express, a vintage train ride around the museum grounds. This 25-minute ride gives guests a tour of the historic site aboard a classic passenger railcar, pulled by a vintage diesel locomotive. Riders can disembark at the Roundhouse for prime fireworks viewing and will receive a patriotic souvenir to remember the night.

 

Other highlights include the Ride of Pride trucks display, turntable rides for a small fee, and food vendors on-site. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for comfortable viewing. Please note: while coolers are welcome, this is an alcohol-free event, and pets should be left at home (registered service animals are allowed).
