The N.C. Transportation Museum - located in Spencer, N.C. - may just be the best place any child or transportation enthusiast could visit in the entire world. What was once Southern Railway’s largest steam locomotive servicing facility, is now a 60-acre museum site dedicated solely to all things transportation. From train rides to seasonal and permanent exhibits, there is tons to look forward to when you visit the Museum that Moves You.

Hours: (June through Labor Day): Tuesday – Saturday 9 A.M. – 5 P.M., Sunday noon – 5 P.M., Closed Mondays (Open Labor Day 9 A.M. – 5 P.M.)

Train Schedule: (June through Labor Day): Thursday & Friday at 10 A.M., 11 A.M., & 1 P.M., Saturday at 10 A.M., 11 A.M., 1 P.M. & 2 P.M., Sunday at 1 P.M., 2 P.M., & 3 P.M.

Admission: $6 for Adults, $5 for Seniors (62+)/Military, $4 for Children 3-12 years of age

Admission + Train Ride: $12 for Adults, $10 for Seniors (62+)/Military, $8 for Children 3-12 years of age
