Festival of Lights & Winterland Express (through December 30): Celebrate the Christmas spirit all month long in Kannapolis with the Celebration of Lights. The Celebration of Lights boasts more than 250,000 lights and takes place at Village Park nightly. Walk through the park and enjoy the many light displays or make a reservation and ride the Winterland Express and enjoy other activities.
Christmas at the Hall House (December 4): It’s Victorian Christmas at the Hall House with period decorations, carolers, live cooking demonstrations in the outdoor kitchen, and historic reenactors demonstrating period crafts.
Cannon Ballers Trees of Hope (December 3-5): Trees of Hope is back at Atrium Health Ballpark for the second year in a row! During the four-day event, the community will enjoy a beautifully decorated Atrium Health Ballpark while viewing dozens of Christmas trees decorated by families, businesses, and community organizations!
Historic Gold Hill Christmas in the Village (December 3-5): Make Historic Gold Hill your holiday destination by visiting Santa and the Historic Gold Hill merchants. Step back in time and enjoy the season in a quaint setting surrounded by unique specialty shops. Merchants will offer complimentary light refreshments in their shops, hayrides, marshmallow roasting, live music, and free photo ops with Santa.
The Polar Express Train Ride (through December 23): Inspired by the hit movie, this holiday favorite comes to life as you and your family take a magical trip on The Polar Express Train Ride! Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, families are sure to enjoy their trip to the North Pole, complete with hot chocolate and cookies served on board the train. Upon arrival at the North Pole, passengers deboard to watch Santa present the first gift of Christmas.
Winterfest - German Christmas Marketplace (December 3-4 & 10-11): Wooden Huts and pop-up tents will be filled with holiday gifts, crafts and festive foods. Lights, trees, fire pits and merry music will create a warm holiday experience for our community and visitors alike. The festivities will include a 26 foot Christmas Tree, gigantic bounce house, Biergarten, performances and more.
Photos with Santa + the Grinch & Antique Firetruck Rides in Downtown Salisbury: Spend the day in downtown gathering at Bell Tower Green for photos with Santa and the Grinch. Forget the sleigh, Antique Fire Trucks are the only way to travel on this day! There will be music, crafts, entertainment and hot coca.
Christmas in the Grove (December 18): China Grove is having real snow blown in. Bring your family and friends and grab a sled for a fun night of sledding! Hot chocolate, hot dogs and drinks will be available for purchase. Warm up by one of the fire pits or roast marshmallows and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate. Enjoy time with Santa, face painting and the petting zoo.
The Nutcracker (December 18-19): This enchanting production takes the stage for the 19th year! This annual holiday favorite is a story about a little girl, Clara, and her magical journey to a land of sweets that all begins with a gift from her Godfather Drosselmeyer. Join the Salisbury Symphony and the Piedmont School of Music and Dance for this exciting ballet by Tchaikovsky.
