As the summer sun reaches its peak, so does the excitement for one of Rowan County’s most beloved traditions - the Woodleaf Tomato Festival. Now in its 17th year, this homegrown celebration honors the region’s rich tomato-farming heritage in the community that has been a center of tomato production in North Carolina for more than 125 years. Held each August on the grounds of Unity Presbyterian Church in Woodleaf, N.C., the festival is a lively blend of food, music, contests, and community pride - all to support local church and community initiatives. Whether you’re craving vine-ripened flavor, live music, or small-town charm, the 2025 festival promises a full day of original summer fun and tradition.

  • Bring Cash: Most local vendors are cash-only, so come prepared to shop and snack without worry.

  • Stay Cool: August in North Carolina can be very hot! Be sure to bring a refillable water bottle, wear breathable clothing, and don’t forget your sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat.

  • Dress for Comfort: You’ll be walking, browsing, and likely dancing a little too - opt for comfortable shoes and lightweight attire.

  • Plan for Parking: Free parking is available along the road near Unity Presbyterian Church. Signage and volunteers will help guide you once you arrive.
