Last updated August 12, 2026.

As summer reaches its peak in Rowan County, so does the excitement for one of the area’s most cherished traditions - the Woodleaf Tomato Festival. Now in its 18th year, this homegrown celebration honors more than 125 years of tomato-farming heritage in the Woodleaf community, long recognized as a hub of tomato production in North Carolina.

Held each August on the grounds of Unity Presbyterian Church in Woodleaf, N.C., the festival brings together fresh flavors, lively entertainment, and small-town charm - all while supporting local church and community outreach efforts. Whether you’re coming for vine-ripened tomatoes, unique contests, or a day filled with music and family-friendly fun, the 2026 Woodleaf Tomato Festival offers an authentic Rowan County experience.
