Between 4th of July celebrations, concerts, movies in the parks and festivals, there are countless ways to spend this warm, summer month here in Rowan County. July 1, 3, 14, 16, 17 & 23 | Kannapolis Summer Concert Series
Discover Fun in Kannapolis returns this summer with an incredible lineup of great concerts and of course, fireworks. Events will be held from April to August. All events are free to the public and fireworks will begin immediately following the concert on July 1. Come enjoy music, food and fun in Kannapolis!
July 1-4 | Faith 4th of July Celebration
Since 1946 the small town has hosted a Fourth of July celebration with patriotic pride. The celebration has been called one of the biggest Fourth of July Celebrations in the state of North Carolina, and includes rides, games, parades, contests, concerts, and much more. Enjoy celebrating the 4th of July this year at Faith, N.C.’s weeklong celebration.
July 2 | Moving the Military Tour
Venture behind-the-scenes for a unique opportunity to explore the Museum That Moves You with a new guided tour. The Moving the Military Guided tour will be held on July 2 and will highlight military vehicles and equipment in the museum’s collection. Travel back in time as you learn the importance of the exhibits and how they played a role in military history.
July 2 | Fireworks Over Historic Spencer Shops
Enjoy a night of family fun at the N.C. Transportation Museum for Fireworks Over Historic Spencer Shops! On display will be the Ride of Pride trucks from Daimler Trucks North America’s Cleveland, NC plant. Activities include a balloon twister, DJ music, corn hole, and other lawn games, so bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the show!
July 2, 8, 16, 22 & 30 | Reels & Riffs: Movie & Music Series
Lights! Camera! Action! And Music! Salisbury Parks and Recreation Department presents Reels and Riffs, a movie and music series at Bell Tower Green. Visitors and community members are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and snacks to the free shows.
July 8, 29 & 31 | Kannapolis Movies in the Park
Discover Fun in Kannapolis returns this summer with an incredible lineup of great movies. Events will be held from April to August and all events are free to the public. The Village Park Family Movie Series returns on Fridays and a Spanish version of the movies will be shown on Sundays at Atrium Health Ballpark.
July 13-16 | Krazy Klearance & Restaurant Week in Downtown Salisbury
Krazy Klearance is a Downtown Salisbury tradition where our merchants have their lowest markdowns of the year throughout their shops and on the sidewalks. During your shopping trip, be sure to take time to experience restaurant week with some of the original restaurants Downtown Salisbury has to offer.
July 16 | 41st Annual China Grove Farmers Day
Join China Grove, N.C. for our 41st Annual Farmers Day - a day filled with Farm and Ag displays, Farmers Market, Food and Craft Vendors, Live Music, Antique Tractors, Kids activities and entertainment, Homemade Ice Cream and Apple Hand Pies and so much more! Join us for a week of celebration with activities throughout the week. From the opening ceremony until the last firework, Farmers Day offers something for everyone!
July 23 | Dragon Boat Festival
The Rowan Chamber Dragon Boat Festival has traditionally been the largest annual spectator event held on High Rock Lake - the second largest lake in North Carolina. The festival includes vendors, food trucks and activities for the whole family in a park-like atmosphere, and of course watching teams compete for wins. Come check out this 2,300-year-old Ancient Chinese tradition in action where 20 paddlers steer each sleek, detailed dragon boat while drums sound to the beat of each paddler’s stroke.
July 23 | Gold Rush Day’s Art and Craft Festival
Come out to quaint Historic Gold Hill for the 2022 Gold Rush Days' Art and Craft Festival. Local artisans will be showcasing and selling their hand-made work. You can enjoy the unique village shops, gold panning, gem mining, music and food while experiencing a family outing amid the lovely setting of Gold Hill where walking down the wooden sidewalks is like stepping back in time!
July 28 | History on Tap
Join the Historic Salisbury Foundation for the 8th Annual History on Tap (H.O.T.) this summer! The series will take place exclusively on the last Thursday during the H.O.T. summer months of June, July, and August, where you’re invited to cool off by sampling fresh brews while exploring Rowan County's fantastic historic places and spaces. While attending, you will discover our fascinating local history and beautiful architecture.
July 30 | Celebrity Car & Truck Show
Replicas of your favorite cars that were stars in movies and film will be displayed during an event that offers great photo opportunities and a chance to talk with those who have put in the hard work to create these awesome replicas. Come out to the N.C. Transportation Museum to experience these incredible masterpieces for yourself this July.
