About Waterworks Visual Arts Center

Waterworks Visual Arts Center serves as the anchor organization for Salisbury’s East Square Cultural Arts District and is the only teaching art museum within a 40-mile radius of Salisbury. The museum is also nationally accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, a distinction held by only a small number of art museums in North Carolina. The museum provides a unique blend of education, creativity, and community engagement through rotating exhibitions, hands-on art classes, and outreach programs for all ages.

Exhibitions & Galleries

Waterworks presents rotating exhibitions throughout the year, showcasing creative and expressive artwork from both emerging and established regional and national artists. Visitors can explore several gallery spaces on the first floor, including the Woodson Gallery, along with a sculpture courtyard and sensory gardens that extend the artistic experience outdoors.
