The Rowan Chamber Dragon Boat Festival is the largest annual spectator event on High Rock Lake and one of the most exciting community celebrations of the summer. The festival draws thousands of visitors each year, with over 5,000 spectators in attendance in 2024. Here’s a look at what you can experience throughout the day:
Dragon Boat Races
Teams of 20 paddlers, a drummer, and a steersperson will race in sleek 45-foot dragon boats on a 300-meter course. Whether you’re watching from the shoreline or participating as a team, you’ll feel the excitement as the boats slice through the water to the steady beat of the drum.
No experience is necessary to participate! Pan Am Dragon Boat Company provides all equipment and training.
All race team slots are full for this year. We encourage you to come enjoy the excitement and cheer on your favorite teams!
Food & Drink Vendors
Fuel your festival day with a variety of food and drink options from local vendors. From festival favorites to cool drinks and sweet treats, there’s something delicious waiting for everyone.
Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
