This all day festival pays tribute to the small mining town of Gold Hill and the gilded age of gold discovery in North Carolina. Gold Hill made their first gold discovery in 1824 in the heart of the Carolina Gold Rush Territory. Today it is considered to be one of the most charming historic small towns in North Carolina. Home to numerous gold mines, including the 850 feet deep Randolph Mine and the 435 feet deep Barnhardt Mine, two of the most famous and profitable gold mines in the southeast.
Obviously, Gold Hill deserves some celebration.
